About SharpsQLD

Sharps QLD is a harm reduction initiative focused on giving Queensland residents straightforward, up-to-date guidance for sharps disposal and safe handling.

Our goal is to reduce health risks by making accurate sharps disposal information available in one place—no more calling around or searching through different websites.

Sharps are things like needles, syringes, or lancets that can cut or poke the skin. Sharps must always be disposed of safely to keep ourselves, our neighbours, and our wildlife safe.

Through collaboration with local councils, healthcare providers, and community resources, we aim to foster a safer, more informed approach to sharps management.
